If you have health insurance with AXA or Bupa Global, your sessions with me may be covered. I am an HCPC-registered psychologist and a recognised provider with both insurers, offering therapy online across the UK and in person in London N7, in English or Italian.
Getting started is simple. You don't need a GP referral – just an authorisation code from your insurer.
Therapy covered by AXA and Bupa Global
Check your cover. Call your insurer or log in to your member portal and confirm that your policy includes mental health or psychological therapy. Ask how many sessions are covered.
Request an authorisation code. Tell your insurer you would like to see a psychologist and give them my name: Valentina Pierangeli. They will give you an authorisation (or pre-authorisation) number.
Get in touch with me. Send me your authorisation code, your membership number and the number of sessions authorised, using the contact form or by booking a call.
Start your sessions. I bill your insurer directly for the sessions they have authorised, so you don't need to pay upfront.
If you need more sessions than were first authorised, we can review this together and you can ask your insurer to extend your authorisation.
How it works
I don't charge any extra fees or shortfall on top of what your insurer covers. The only cost you may have is your policy's annual excess, if your plan has one. This is set by your insurer, not by me, so check your policy details if you're unsure.
Will I need to pay anything?
Online therapy, wherever you are in the UK
All insured sessions can take place online, so you can access therapy from home, work or wherever you feel comfortable. Sessions are available in English and Italian.
I work with adults and teenagers on:
anxiety, panic attacks and overthinking
low mood, burnout and stress
trauma and distressing experiences (including EMDR therapy)
life transitions, relocation and identity
sport performance, body image and self-esteem
Not insured? Self-funded sessions
If you don't have health insurance, or your policy doesn't cover therapy, you can still work with me as a self-funded client. You can book single sessions or a package of sessions, which brings the cost per session down. Get in touch to ask about current fees.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a GP referral? No. AXA and Bupa Global only need you to request an authorisation code before your first session.
What if my insurer is not AXA or Bupa Global? You are welcome to work with me as a self-funded client. Contact me and I will explain the options.
Can I switch between online and in-person sessions? Yes. In-person sessions take place in London N7, and online sessions are available across the UK.
Have your authorisation code ready? Get in touch and we can arrange your first session.
